Vince McBurney of Southern California competes in the Outback Cuttings event Friday at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds.

The competition draws more than 150 horses from around California and Arizona. The public can come watch the action for free through Sunday at the horse arena. The event is the largest show of the National Cutting Association on the West Coast.
