The North Monterey County High Condors will debut their brand new all-weather football field and track for homecoming on Oct. 6 against the Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies.

Cassidy Schurman, Mattea Romo and Kate Watts combined for 30 kills in a 25-19, 25-18, 26-24 sweep of Notre Dame-Salinas on Tuesday in Monterey Bay League Gabilan division action.

Sayers unexpectedly tumbled to the dirt while running out a foul ball, but quickly rose to her feet, dusted herself off and started the Mariners’ game-sealing push with an RBI triple in the seventh inning of Thursday evening’s 7-3 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League win over host St. Francis High.

Danner Pardue raced to wins in the 100-meters (11.31 seconds) and 200 (23.16); Ethan Rasmussen was first in the discus (114 feet, 5 inches) and shot put (40-7); and Tal Williford won the high jump (5-0) and 110 hurdles (17.92).

Watsonville graduated a pair of starters in second baseman Liyah Lopez and centerfielder Nicole Wilson — Scott’s daughter — but has been lucky enough to fill those holes with freshman Maliyah Sandin and sophomore Jazmyne Martinez, respectively. Along with those additions, the Wildcatz have also added freshman outfielders Anastacia Alba and Maya Guerrero and freshman pitcher Daisy Ortiz.
