Four Cabrillo College starters scored double digits in a 71-57 victory over West Valley College on Wednesday afternoon in the Adobe Palace, resulting in Cabrillo (16-5, 5-1) having sole possession of second place in the Coast Conference South.

Martin homered in the top of the 10th inning as the Mariners rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat the Oakland Athletics 7-6 on Tuesday night. Martin hit a high arcing shot to right off a 2-1 94 mph fastball from Josh Smith (2-0) with two outs.

The Raiders also officially announced the signing of defensive tackle Justin Ellis to a three-year contract and signed receiver Griff Whalen to a one-year deal. Ellis had agreed to the deal last week to stay off the free-agent market but it was not announced until Monday.

The Raiders returned from the bye week Monday and immediately made another big trade, dealing Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2019 first-round pick. That trade follows the one made just over a week before the start of the season that sent Mack to Chicago for a package that included a pair of first-round picks.
