Wildcatz’s CCS champion softball team honored by Watsonville City Council
Behind stellar pitching and timely hitting, Watsonville won its first-ever CCS title this season, beating Homestead High for the Division I crown in late May. The Wildcatz also became the first softball squad from Santa Cruz County to win a section title.

Tuesday night’s 68-49 victory over St. Francis High locked up the program’s first 12-0 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League season since 1983. It’s also the first time the Mariners’ can call themselves league champions — period — since 2001.
