SANTA CRUZ — Santa Cruz Police on Thursday arrested two men in connection with the spate of shootings that have occurred in the city since July 21.
Michael Trabue Day, 19, of San Jose, and Enrique Rocha, 20, of Watsonville, were charged with attempted homicide, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and participation in a criminal street gang. They were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $900,000 bail, jail records showed.

Day was arrested without incident in Capitola following a car stop, SCPD Deputy Chief Dan Flippo said. Day is a resident of San Jose, but associates with individuals in the Santa Cruz County area, Flippo said.
Rocha was arrested in his home in Watsonville.
The arrests follow a series of four shootings that have occurred in the City of Santa Cruz since July 21. Police have not said which incident the men are connected with.
