SANTA CRUZ COUNTY—With a Red Flag warning in place through Monday, possibly bringing erratic winds and dry lightning, the Santa Cruz County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is urging all evacuees of the CZU Lightning Complex fires currently staying outdoors in tents to seek refuge at an indoor shelter.

Evacuees are asked to first check with friends or family for sheltering options.

Saturday the EOC announced the opening of an ADA-compliant shelter at Harbor High School, 300 La Fonda Ave., Santa Cruz. According to the County, the shelter has room for 75 evacuees.

Other indoor shelter locations include:

• Santa Cruz Bible Church, 440 Frederick St., Santa Cruz
• Congregational Church of Soquel, 4951 Soquel Dr., Soquel
• Simpkins Swim Center, 979 17th Ave., Santa Cruz

Capacity at those centers changes hourly. Go here for updated shelter information.
