A late-night bicycle stop ended with one arrest and the recovery of a loaded gun. Watsonville Police Department said that while on patrol Monday just before midnight, an officer stopped a cyclist for a vehicle code violation in the 1000 block of Main Street. 

During the stop, the officer learned 24-year-old Donavin Campos was on probation. Officers found a loaded firearm while searching him.

As part of the investigation, officers conducted a probation compliance check at the home of Campos on the 100 block of Palm Street, where they found additional firearm-related evidence, including ammunition and a magazine.

Campos was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail and is facing multiple firearm-related charges, including carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and possession of a firearm by a convicted person.
