A Green Sheets ballot initiative, the city budget and review of the Los Altos Hills’ code enforcement program are on the agenda for tomorrow’s City Council meeting.

The potential ballot initiative aims to keep the town’s rural character and restrict codifying aspects of the Green Sheets documents around restricting urban development. The town would use the Green Sheets documents as a guiding blueprint for the measure. The Green Sheets called for the right and space to keep animals, rural character and no additional industry or commerce. The town is considering an initiative for the Nov. 3 general election, with the last day to place a council-sponsored initiative measure on the ballot Aug. 6.

The council will also discuss the 2026-2027 fiscal year budget, with the proposed budget balanced and showing a surplus of approximately $500,000. The town’s discussion on its existing code enforcement will look at improving administrative enforcement, cost recovery, civil penalty options and alternative dispute resolution tools.

The Los Altos Hills City Council meeting starts at 5:30 p.m., but the council will enter into a closed session, returning at 6 p.m. For more information, see losaltoshillsca.portal.civicclerk.com/event/4567/files/attachment/14195.
