WATSONVILLE — Almost six months after Orchard Supply Hardware closed its doors in the Crossroads Shopping Center on South Green Valley Road, the building has gotten a new tenant.

Hope Thrift will offer “top brands at low prices,” said Gina Jennings, district director of Hope Services, which will run the store.

Based in San Jose, Hope Services provides support for people with developmental disabilities and their families. This includes services for children, seniors and people affected by mental health issues.

The organization currently serves 3,900 people in six counties.

The 27,000-square-foot store will offer new and reused items, and will also serve as an outlet for Hope Craft, which will sell crafts made by clients, and Hope Bikes, which will sell refurbished bicycles, Jennings said.

All of the proceeds will fund Hope Services, Jennings said.

Jennings estimated the store will open in mid-fall.

The organization recently opened a similar store in Willow Glen.

“The primary objective is to provide good value to the community,” Jennings said. “We plan to bring it to the community in an affordable fashion.”
