WATSONVILLE — Watsonville Police arrested a man after a nine-hour standoff on Vista Montaña Drive after he reportedly holed up in his apartment after firing a shot from a gun into a car.

According to Watsonville Police Sgt. Mish Radich, Mario Ceja, 31, had an altercation with a woman after midnight.

At Riverside Drive and Marchant Street Ceja reportedly fired a shot into the woman’s car following a road rage incident with her.

He then fled. No one was hurt, Radich said.

Police managed to get Ceja’s home address and surrounded the home. Ann Soldo Elementary School was placed on lock down throughout the standoff. Police eventually coaxed Ceja outside where he was taken into custody without incident, Radich said.
