Community Services Agency (CSA) will support local families preparing for the upcoming school year through its annual Back-to-School event on Friday, Aug. 7, at its office located at 204 Stierlin Road in Mountain View. The event will provide Walmart gift cards to unhoused and low-income families throughout the community, with hundreds of families expected to attend the distribution from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

The gift cards allow parents and caregivers to purchase the items their children need most, including school supplies, clothing and shoes, helping students return to school prepared to learn.

“With the economy still putting a strain on families, we are grateful to be able to provide direct assistance for families with students as the school year begins,” said CSA Associate Director Amy Kaiser. “Gift cards give families the flexibility to decide what they need most. This annual event goes a long way toward easing the financial stress that comes with the back-to-school season.”

CSA is accepting $25 Walmart gift cards and donations to help provide additional assistance to families in need. Gift cards may be dropped off at the CSA office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
