The Los Altos School District held a groundbreaking this morning for the new TK-8 San Antonio campus known as the 10th site. District superintendent Sandra McGonagle was joined by current and former trustees for a gold-shoveled ceremony as equipment moved rubble around in the background on the 11.7-acre former retail space.

Superintendent McGonagle spoke about the investment the community was making in future generations by building the new school campus, saying, “Great communities invest not just in their needs today.” She added that the school will be part of the community for years to come, serving students not yet born. “Today we are taking a great step forward,” McGonagle said.

With demolition and cleanup well underway, construction is expected to move at a brisk pace with completion scheduled for August 2028.
