There were few surprises for voters Wednesday morning as primary results began to trickle in.

In the race for the U.S. House of Representatives, District 16, current freshman Democrat Sam Liccardo easily took the top spot out of the four vying for that seat. The second slot on November’s ballot had yet to be decided as of Wednesday morning, with two Republicans, Peter Soulé and Kevin Johnson, in low double digits, followed by Jotham Stein, a distant fourth, as ballots continue to be counted. The eventual second-place vote getter will face Liccardo in November.

Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen coasted to a 20-point reelection victory over Daniel Chung. With no challenger in November, Rosen has secured another four-year term in the DA’s office.
