Maria “Monique” Benavidez died unexpectedly in Monterey on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018. She was 39.
She was loved by so many friends near and far. She enjoyed long drives through the redwoods, visiting different beaches and was well known for her “Rasta Music.”
She is survived by her father, Albert Benavidez; siblings, Priscilla Benavidez and Michael Thompson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Church with a final blessing ceremony to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
