The Los Altos History Museum hosts one of China’s most important traditional celebrations this Sunday, Sept. 20, from 1-4 p.m. In partnership with the Greater Los Altos Chinese Association (GLACA), this family-friendly event is a time for family reunion, gratitude and wishes for health and happiness during the harvest.
While the celebration dates back over 3,000 years in China, this year’s Los Altos event includes modern twists like flying sword drones and a 3-D sugar art printer where festivalgoers can make edible designs, in addition to beanbag tossing, rope jumping, shuttlecock kicking and the traditional Chinese arrow-tossing game, pitch-pot. Organizers also point to family activities like lantern and windmill making, as well as festival favourite face painting.
Admission is $10 per person, but free for museum members, children 12 and under and seniors 65 and up. For more information, see losaltoshistory.org/MidAutumnFest2026.
