No matter how you feel about immigration policy, we can all agree that we want all children to be and feel safe. As a team of community leaders and activists, we are working to make sure all children have a secure place to live should something happen to their parents.

While most kids grew up running around their daycare after school, I grew up hanging out in my parents’ classrooms. Both of my parents work in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District — a district that is severely underfunded. This district is largely populated by low-income, immigrant families.

Anyone over a certain age who has driven the freeways of the Bay Area or Southern California knows that widening highways doesn’t work to reduce congestion beyond the short-term.
