Cabrillo College halted its losing streak at five games with a 36-20 win over winless Gavilan College on Saturday at Gilroy High in American Golden Coast Conference action.
MBL Golf: Tran named Pacific division M.V.P. for champion Mustangs
Tran was the overall medalist at Monday’s MBL Golf Championships at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey. He fired a two-over par 73 through the unusually windy and cloudy conditions in the Monterey hills.
CCS Sports: Section officially moves weekend’s action south
Because of poor air quality in the Bay Area stemming from the ongoing Camp Fire just east of Chico, all of Friday’s football games will take place on Saturday at five sites in the southern portion of the CCS. The CCS Cross Country Championships, too, were pushed back a day and moved to a different location. The section’s top runners will meet at Toro Park in Salinas on Sunday at 10 a.m.
